Nelly holds multiple leadership positions within RSM, taking full advantage of all RSM has to offer. Trained as an auditor working with national and international clients, she eventually found her passion in change management. Now a CCMP and Prosci certified change management professional, Nelly focuses on understanding individual behaviors to help companies deliver the benefits of large-scale transformations. She also leverages her analytical skills as a certified public accountant to tie change initiatives to financial benefits while focusing on the human side of change.
In 2020, Nelly was selected as a financial services senior analyst in RSM’s Industry Eminence Program, which positions its analysts to understand, forecast, and communicate economic, business, and technology trends shaping the industries RSM serves.
In 2017, Nelly joined RSM’s expatriate program for a three-year rotation in London, where she gained private company experience with international clients. She became adept at serving international clients, coordinating with various stakeholders, and bridging cultural differences to best serve RSM clients. This later positioned Nelly to take on the Ireland Country Practice leader role supporting RSM global clients. After repatriating to the United States in 2021, Nelly joined RSM’s management consulting group focused on change management.
Nelly is an ardent supporter of RSM’s culture of inclusion for all and serves as Chair of the National Steering Committee for RSM’s ¡HOLA! employee network group (ENG). She is also very active in several other ENGs.
Born in central Mexico, Nelly moved to the United States with her family when she was eight years old. As an immigrant, she uses her perspective as an outsider to help her adapt to new cities, new experiences, and new roles. With RSM, she has served the Chicago, London, and San Francisco offices and has had the opportunity to travel throughout Europe and parts of Asia. She never expected that, as a CPA and now a change management professional, she could have such a diverse career with just one firm.
Outside of work, Nelly serves on the Corporate Advisory Board for ALPFA Chicago and is part of the Onward Neighborhood House Board. She has completed many half and full marathons, including the original marathon in Greece from Marathon to Athens. A bit of a foodie, Nelly is always willing to travel to faraway places to find good food.
