Angela has eight years of public accounting experience with RSM. As part of the assurance line of business, she works within the financial services industry group and specializes in audits of financial institutions and specialty finance companies. Her primary focus is on community banks, both public and private, that range from $100 million to over $50 billion in assets.
She has significant experience with integrated financial statement audits, internal control audits and the application of bank-specific accounting pronouncements. She has audited and addressed matters related to current expected credit losses, business combinations, other-than-temporary impairment considerations related to investment securities and valuation of goodwill, and other standard financial institution accounts.
Angela has conducted extensive testing and reviews of internal controls and their sufficiency and compliance pursuant to Sarbanes-Oxley, including the design and implementation of internal control testing and related procedures for several banks that must comply with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. Improvement Act and Securities and Exchange Commission regulations. She has also conducted engagements in connection with capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and capital raise transactions. Lastly, she has worked very closely with RSM’s consulting line of business to model validation procedures as well as valuation of specific financial statement accounts.
Outside of her primary focus on commercial banks, Angela helped create the foundation for RSM to serve clients from an attestation perspective when it comes to environmental, social and governance issues. Angela continues to work closely with the practice leaders in sustainability to develop and grow the specialization and help make RSM the go-to-market leader in the ESG space.
Angela is a member of RSM’s sustainability committee, which is tasked with integrating both business and sustainability initiatives into RSM’s long-term future. She is also a national instructor for the assurance line of business and conducts annual training for everyone from senior associates to partners in the firm.
