Steve Kampa is a partner with RSM US LLP and serves as the tax leader of RSM US Alliance.
Steve joined RSM in 2007 and is currently a tax partner with RSM US LLP. He is aligned to the RSM tax line of business leaders where he serves as the tax leader of RSM’s accounting industry services line of business serving CPA firms in the RSM US Alliance, RSM Canada Alliance and AdvanceCPA associations. Steve builds a community of tax leadership teams around practice and risk management topics through understanding tax issues/trends facing the CPA firm industry and by facilitating collaboration of RSM’s global tax resources. His background involves a broad range of industries, including health care, publishing and retail.
Steve was the first national leader for RSM’s lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employee network group, Pride, which began in 2015. In this role, he championed LGBT inclusion in the retention and recruitment of employees and clients across the firm.
Prior to joining RSM, Steve was a tax manager in a large, nonprofit health care and supporting organization system. In his role, he was responsible for the organization’s tax accounting and compliance filings for both taxable and tax-exempt entities. Steve was in a similar role for a large, multinational, publicly traded corporate retailer where he was responsible for the tax accounting and consolidated compliance reporting and filing, implementation of Sarbanes-Oxley Act, and maintenance of other internal controls.
