RSM Canada raises $287,000 for children and their families

TORONTO, ON – (Jan. 30, 2024) – RSM Canada LLP (“RSM”) – a leading global provider of assurance, tax and consulting services – is proud to share that $287,000 was raised throughout Canada towards RSM’s 2023 Power of Love charitable giving campaign.

In Canada, RSM focuses its charitable giving towards organizations and opportunities that enhance educational outcomes and the quality of life for children and families in the communities its employees live and work – and that are important to their teams and clients.

RSM’s 2023 fundraising goal was achieved through several employee events, along with external donor contributions. Here are the charitable organizations that will benefit from RSM’s 2023 fundraising campaign:

CALGARY:

• Little Red Reading House is a two-story house in a historic Calgary neighbourhood devoted to promoting a love of ready and early literacy. It’s a place children can experience the joy of reading in an environment created for that sole purpose. Originally created by Calgary Reads, this local non-profit has advocated for early literacy and book ownership for 22 years.

EDMONTON:

• Little Warriors is a national, charitable organization focused on the awareness, prevention, and treatment of child sexual abuse. Central to this organization is the Little Warrior’s Be Brave Ranch – a specialized, trauma-informed, evidence-based, treatment centre focused on helping children who have been sexually abused, and their families. The Be Brave Ranch program assists children overcome the devastating effects of child sexual abuse.

RED DEER:

• Habitat for Humanity Red Deer Region Society is part of an international, non-profit organization dedicated to helping Central Alberta families build better lives, by helping families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership. Habitat for Humanity Red Deer promotes and encourages a world where everyone has a decent place to live, by building homes in partnership with qualifying low-income working families through a no-down-payment, interest-free mortgage program.

TORONTO AND KITCHENER:

• ComKids' mission is to engage youth facing digital exclusion by providing new technology and digital skills, ensuring all young people have the opportunity to thrive. ComKids employs a holistic, three-pronged approach to digital access, addressing hardware, literacy, and connectivity. This comprehensive strategy ensures that the recipients not only receive the necessary devices but also gain the knowledge and skills required to use them effectively. ComKids has been instrumental in shaping the lives of students, bringing about significant improvements across its three project outcomes: improve digital access, build digital skills, promote mental health and wellbeing, and empower academic participation and success.

VANCOUVER:

• For more than 40 years, the Adoptive Families Association of British Columbia has been dedicated to providing ground-breaking programs for families, children, and youth. They strive to inform, support, educate, and connect everyone in the adoption and permanency community, and welcome prospective and waiting adoptive parents and guardianship, kinship, moral, and custom adoption families, as well as those formed through legal adoption.
