RSM Canada awards $20,000 in Power Your Education scholarships

RSM Canada, the leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, is pleased to announce it has selected four students to receive $5,000 (US) each toward their 2021-2022 tuition through the RSM US Foundation scholarship program, Power Your Education. In addition to scholarships, each student also earned an invitation to RSM’s competitive Pathways Summer Leadership program, this summer.

Students were selected on a number of core criteria including GPA and major; a short answer to a question about something that makes them unique; and a 30-second video response to the question: What does RSM’s brand promise – the power of being understood – mean to you? Judges assessed essays on creativity, quality of writing and reflection of the applicants’ individuality, and they evaluated the degree to which each video submission reflected RSM’s core values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence and stewardship.

This year’s scholarship winners are:

VOLUNTEER WEEK

Established in 2010, RSM Volunteer Week demonstrates our commitment to giving our time in the communities where our people live and work. In 2020, in spite of a stay-at-home order due to the pandemic, nearly 2,000 of our people and their family members participated in more than 60 volunteer activities across the U.S. and in Canada to give back to their local communities. More than 80 charities benefitted from projects including assembling back-to-school backpacks and personal hygiene kits for children, grocery drives for food banks, the making of cards and masks for frontline workers, and many other activities.

BIRDIES FORE LOVE

RSM partners with the Davis Love Foundation – host organization for The RSM Classic, a PGA TOUR event – on Birdies Fore Love. Through this program, each RSM office selects a local charity that supports youth in the areas of hunger, housing or health. Each charity benefits from the funds raised locally by employees, clients, family and friends. With a generous match from the RSM Foundation, we were able to give more than $4.6 million to deserving charities in 2020.
