RSM Canada (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market and title sponsor of The RSM Classic – is pleased to announce that Scottie Scheffler has won $300,000 through the RSM Birdies Fore Love charitable giving competition. Scheffler won for recording the most birdies (or better) over the first 11 events of the 2019-20 PGA TOUR Season. He will donate his winnings to several charities, including the Triumph Over Kid Cancer Foundation and the Davis Love Foundation.

The top three players who accumulated the most birdies (or better), concluding with The RSM Classic at Sea Island, Georgia, were awarded with $300,000, $150,000 and $50,000 respectively for charitable donations to the players’ choice of children- and/or family-focused charitable organizations that are helping to build the middle market business leaders of tomorrow.

Lanto Griffin finished second, and will donate $150,000 to his charity of choice, Lanto Griffin Foundation, supporting New River Valley (Virginia) families battling terminal illnesses and to help youth, who may not have the financial means or who encounter extenuating circumstances, achieve their dreams in sports and in life. Denny McCarthy finished third in the RSM Birdies Fore Love competition and will use the $50,000 to start the Denny McCarthy Foundation.

In addition, as an enhancement to this year’s Birdies Fore Love program, players who recorded the most birdies (or better) in each fall event earned $50,000 for charities of their choice, bringing the total raised through the RSM Birdies Fore Love on-course competition to $1,050,000 through this year’s program. Kyoung-Hoon Lee recorded the most birdies (or better) in The RSM Classic.

Winning players donated funds to charitable organizations focused on building tomorrow’s middle market business leaders through programs that support education, as well as organizations committed to improving lives of youth through a focus on hunger, housing and health.

“The generosity of our people at RSM is humbling, and the addition of the TOUR component of Birdies Fore Love has added an element of excitement throughout the fall while enhancing our overall giving,” said Andy Bosman, chief marketing officer for RSM US LLP. “I am very excited to see the impact that Scottie, Lanto and Denny will make with their winnings.”

“The 10th RSM Classic was definitely one for the books, with Tyler Duncan winning for the first time on the PGA TOUR,” said The RSM Classic Tournament Host Davis Love III. “I’m also thrilled with the success of the Birdies Fore Love program, which has donated more than $17 million to those in need. I am overwhelmed by the generosity of those who support the tournament, particularly from a philanthropic perspective. Congratulations to Scottie Scheffler for winning the Birdies Fore Love competition.”
