RSM Canada expands risk advisory practice with new key hire

RSM Canada (“RSM”) – the leading global provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – announced that Catharine Dutt has joined the Toronto office as a risk consulting partner.

Catharine is an integral addition to the RSM Canada team as it continues to add services and capabilities to its nationwide consulting services practice and drive overall growth in financial services.

Catharine will be an integral member of an important and growing practice.”

Catharine most recently worked for one of Canada’s large banking institutions as vice-president and global head of strategy, planning and operations for internal audit services. In this role, she was responsible for the strategic direction of the global audit function, along with audit committee oversight and global governance reporting, global financial management, professional audit standards and data analytics. She was also tasked with building the bank’s U.S. audit function, along with key relationship management for the Federal Reserve Bank in the U.S. Prior to Catharine’s tenure in banking, she held increasingly senior positions at one of the largest global professional services firms.

Catharine holds a Master of Accounting and Honours Co-op B.A. in chartered accounting, both from the University of Waterloo, and is a chartered professional accountant in both Canada and the U.S. She has supported the internal audit industry as conference chair for the Toronto chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors and remains active in her community through a board of director’s position with the Children’s Aid Society of Toronto.
