Timothy Zimmerman specializes in loss quantification, business valuation and forensic accounting and is the national financial investigations and disputes leader at RSM Canada. His practice focuses on commercial disputes, insurance claims, and construction and expropriation disputes.
Timothy is qualified as an expert in loss quantification, business valuation and forensic accounting by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice and Local Planning Appeal Tribunal and has provided expert testimony on numerous occasions. The breadth of his services ranges from business interruption claims, expropriation claims, breach of contract claims, construction disputes, forensic investigations, intellectual property damages, shareholder disputes and private company business valuations.
Timothy was the 2018 recipient of the Top Chartered Business Valuator Under 40 Award from the Chartered Business Valuators Institute.
Timothy was at a national accounting firm in the valuation modelling and disputes practice for several years before joining RSM’s predecessor firm in 2014. Timothy is active as a lecturer and seminar leader, and has written numerous articles in his field including chapters for the CBV program of studies litigation course. Timothy has experience quantifying commercial claims across Canada and internationally.
