Peter has more than 30 years of experience in both audit and consulting, specializing in governance, risk and controls. He has held many leadership roles at RSM, including serving as head of the firm’s business risk consulting, financial services consulting and Canadian consulting practices. Peter has advised senior executives in the United States, Europe and Asia in many sectors, including financial services, energy, telecommunications and technology.
Several of Peter’s many passions coalesce in his current role at RSM—his love of financial services, a keen eye for team building, a hard-wiring for growth and a deep investment in people. An engineer by trade, Peter spent his youth building and taking things apart to see how they worked and assembled a nuclear reactor simulator for his graduate dissertation. This analytical mindset informs his approach to problem solving and leadership at RSM. He has long been fascinated by financial services because of its dual nature of being highly complex yet fundamental to everyday life. His natural curiosity drives him to explore what motivates and inspires people. As “chief excitement officer,” he brings his enthusiasm to work every day, building high-performing teams that can deliver on the RSM promise.
Before joining RSM, Peter spent two decades, including 11 years as a partner in a Big Four firm, holding leadership positions in New York, Cleveland and London. His strategic vision is integral in shaping the future priorities of RSM. In the area of culture, diversity and inclusion, Peter and other firm leaders are collaborating around a value proposition that helps financial services clients use technology and innovation to better meet the needs of underserved communities.
Outside of work, Peter spends time painting and drawing at the horse farm in the country he shares with his wife and children.
