Kennedy Chinyamutangira is a senior manager in the assurance practice for RSM US LLP, with nearly 10 years of experience providing assurance services to financial services clients. With a focus on alternative investments, such as hedge funds and private equity funds, Kennedy has audited business development companies, traditional domestic and offshore hedge funds, private equity funds, funds of funds, master-feeder structures, and segregated portfolio companies.

In May 2019, Kennedy was selected for RSM’s cutting-edge Industry Eminence Program, which positions the firm’s senior analysts to understand, forecast, and communicate economic, business, and technology trends shaping the industries RSM serves. These senior analysts advise clients on conditions influencing middle market leaders. Kennedy’s focus is on the financial services industry.

Kennedy started his career in public accounting with a Big Four firm in Zimbabwe before joining RSM’s New York office. Outside of accounting, Kennedy honed his talents at a Swiss multinational investment bank in London, a British multinational investment bank and a financial services company in South Africa.

His extensive experience in audit and review engagements for investment companies includes valuation assessments of private equity and debt investments and over-the-counter derivatives. Kennedy brings deep knowledge of global investment performance standards (GIPS) and performance attestation to GIPS verification and performance examination engagements. Kennedy enjoys helping clients navigate an ever-changing investment and technology landscape. He is proficient at proactively assessing solutions for success.
