Jon Klausa is the leader of property accounting services at RSM US LLP (RSM) and helps lead the real estate fund administration practice, driving extensive industry experience and client solutions.
Jon leads the real estate industry team for RSM's finance as a service (FaaS) and Fund Services+ practices, which provide accounting services to a wide array of property types, management companies and joint venture (JV) structures. In this role, Jon oversees the delivery of all back-office accounting functions, including transaction processing, period-end close, financial reporting, audit support and other related activities. Jon is also responsible for private equity(PE)-backed portfolio companies in the technology, media and telecommunications (TMT) industry, and he leads the outsourced ASC 842 lease accounting practice for the firm. His approach to client service is to continuously find efficiencies and identify opportunities to streamline processes utilizing the latest automation technologies, and he brings this focus to all engagements.
Prior to his role at RSM, Jon held financial leadership roles for 14 years, including as controller of an industrial services company and chief financial officer of a multicampus higher education company. This industry background provides Jon with the unique perspective of understanding clients' needs and expectations, allowing him to provide exceptional, consultative client service.
