John leads a team responsible for providing risk, financial, strategic and operational guidance to Securities and Exchange Commission registrants and large private companies in many industries, primarily financial services and manufacturing. RSM’s risk consulting practice provides advisory services around fraud and forensics, financial due diligence, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) and corporate governance. John helps clients identify and prioritize risks, and he provides mitigating solutions for the risks they encounter.
John is focused on studying best practices and emerging trends in the corporate governance arena. He brings that experience to clients by creating and evaluating strategies to improve the synergies between C-suites and governing boards. John is frequently sought out by clients and prospects to solve business challenges and implement changes to enhance client success.
Prior to joining RSM, John served as an auditor at a Big Four public accounting firm. His experience includes developing and integrating strategic corporate planning initiatives for global clients, implementing enterprise risk management and corporate governance programs for companies with international operations and complex business models, and providing strategic coaching and training to boards of directors and audit committees.
In addition to his service to clients, John is invested in the success of RSM professionals, coaching staff members to bolster their skills at serving boards, audit committees and C-suites.
John uses his critical thinking skills to ensure that every action enhances value for clients. He is committed to the firm’s goal of being a first-choice advisor to clients globally, and he does his best to reinforce RSM’s culture and values.
Through his leadership roles within the profession as well as academia, John is committed to giving back to the community. He advises universities and helps prepare talent to drive growth within the public accounting profession. While recently completing his doctorate in accounting, he conducted a specific analysis of the role leadership plays in corporate governance.
