Doug Kroetsch is the national public sector leader and the western Canada market leader for RSM Canada LLP. He consults primarily with government departments and nongovernmental organizations on contract compliance nationally and internationally. As market leader, Doug is focused on growth and culture in the region. An audit partner with more than 25 years of public accounting experience, Doug joined RSM’s predecessor firm in 1994. 

Doug has a reputation as one of the top service providers in Canada for contract compliance in the public sector. He has more than 20 years of experience in contract compliance within advisory and consulting services. He has worked with clients throughout the Middle East, Asia, South America, Central America and the United States. Given that contracts are not always financial in nature, Doug has gained experience in analyzing all contract types to navigate the complexities of the public sector marketplace. He has worked with global nonprofits as well as indigenous clients that receive funding from the government. 

Doug’s strength is in identifying client needs and pairing them with the right resources.

He leverages RSM’s network of professionals—including service line leaders, data analytics professionals and audit innovators—to deliver the firm’s full suite of services to every engagement. He is passionate about bringing value to clients and delivering on RSM’s brand promise of truly understanding a client’s needs. 

Doug held several leadership positions in the legacy firm that merged with RSM, and he brings his deep experience to his current role at RSM Canada. He served on the management committee from 2006 to 2018, served as chairman of the board and as treasurer, and led the firm’s professional standards committee. Driven by positive results, Doug loves winning opportunities and collaborating with clients to deliver solutions. An extrovert by nature, Doug appreciates the opportunity RSM provides to collaborate with clients and colleagues alike.  

As a mentor and career advisor within the firm, Doug coaches his advisees to pursue their individual passions. He is engaged with the firm’s vision for the future and in helping the next generation of RSM professionals upskill and advance their careers.
