About Brandon

Brandon Rucker is the national assurance operations leader for RSM US LLP. In his role, Brandon leads the operations for the firm’s assurance practice, which includes financial strategy and performance, performance measurement and line of business (LOB) alignment to firm and assurance strategy. As an enterprise leader, Brandon works with the chief operating officer and LOB to ensure alignment and operations optimization across the enterprise. He is a current member of the assurance leadership team and RSM US LLP Board of Directors.


Experience

Brandon has more than 25 years of experience in public accounting and first joined RSM in 1996. In his assurance operations leadership role, he brings a depth of knowledge in risk and financial operations from his experience working with RSM’s National Office of Risk Management and finance teams. As an RSM US LLP Board of Directors member, Brandon serves on several committees, including partner matters, finance/mergers and acquisitions and risk oversight. He graduated in the first cohort of RSM’s Enterprise Leadership Academy.

As an assurance partner with the firm for the past 17 years, Brandon has held many leadership roles, including the regional audit leader for the Southeast region. Before joining RSM, Brandon spent four years at a Big Four firm, where he participated in audits of global Fortune 100 companies.

Brandon is passionate about preserving, protecting and building the culture at RSM. He believes RSM’s strong culture is key to the firm’s success and a great asset in developing, attracting and retaining the right people. As a board member, he aims to ensure that every decision the firm makes considers its impact on the culture.

As the executive sponsor of the firm’s Generations employee network group (ENG) for the Charlotte office, Brandon is active in helping to bridge the divide between colleagues of different eras. He was a past board member of the Charlotte Regional Business Alliance focused on economic development in Charlotte and surrounding areas. He also served on numerous committees of the United Way of Central Carolinas.

Born and raised in an agricultural community in rural Kentucky, Brandon is proud that he’s a first-generation college graduate. His upbringing instilled a strong work ethic and taught him to appreciate the values of teamwork and stewardship.
