Adam Lohr is an audit partner and senior analyst in the life sciences industry for RSM US LLP, based in the firm’s San Diego office. He was selected as senior analyst in RSM’s cutting-edge Industry Eminence Program, which positions its senior analysts to understand, forecast and communicate economic, business and technology trends shaping the life sciences industry.
As part of the firm’s Industry Eminence Program, Adam works with high-growth private equity and venture capital-backed startup organizations in the biopharma and biotech industries, as well as commercialized medical technology companies. He is particularly passionate about assisting under-resourced, idea-rich biotech startups that populate the life sciences arena. His consultative approach leverages the power of understanding a client’s goals and applying the appropriate solutions and methodologies for success. Adam works closely with the firm’s chief economist to better understand how economic factors, changing societal influences and technology affect a client’s business. He helps scientists run the business operations of their labs by addressing the macroeconomic trends within labor, supply chains, capital markets and emerging technologies that may affect their businesses.
A people person and team builder, Adam has strong relationships with both clients and colleagues. With the current complexity of the economy, he understands that leveraging the strength of high-performing teams is the path to success. He has held many leadership roles within the firm, including West region industry leader for life sciences. He is also a member of the firm’s national life sciences team and was recently selected for the firm’s next generation enterprise account leadership program. He participates in the firm’s culture, diversity and inclusion efforts as a member of the STAR employee network group supporting women in the firm and serves as the executive sponsor for Pride, the ENG ensuring that RSM is the employer of choice for LGBT+ professionals and allies.
Adam has more than 10 years of experience providing audit and risk advisory services. In addition to leading financial statement audits, he has performed fraud investigations and business process analysis, and has developed effective oversight and governance environments. In 2019, Adam was selected to San Diego Business Journal’s Next Top 40 Business Leaders Under 40 honoring leaders, change-makers and innovators who are creating impact in the San Diego business community.
An avid traveler, Adam and his wife have visited Tanzania on safari, toured Southeast Asia, and completed a four-day trek in Laos. His travel informs his life by providing an understanding that people around the world are largely the same, even though their circumstances are different. He encourages his team to travel outside their comfort zone and he sets an example by taking the time to recharge. Adam and his wife are also animal lovers and have fostered around 20 dogs over the last two years.
