RSM raises more than $13,000 through Dollars for Doers program

NEWS RELEASE

Toronto – Through the firm’s Dollars for Doers program, RSM Canada, the leading global provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, raised $13,800 for Junior Achievement (JA) Central Ontario.

Dollars for Doers, financed by the RSM US Foundation, provided a financial match for the service time of employees who participated in the JA Company Program at RSM Canada. The firm’s employees dedicated their time, valued at $13,800, over the course of 18 weeks to mentoring and supporting high school students in starting, nurturing and winding up a business – all to teach the next generation of business leaders important lessons in entrepreneurship, leadership and financial literacy.

“It is only through meaningful corporate partnerships that JA Central Ontario is able to reach students with life-altering money management and business skills,” said Jane Eisbrenner, president & CEO of JA Central Ontario, “Many thanks to the great team at RSM for their significant support!”

“At RSM, we have a long history of stewardship, and one of the ways we demonstrate this core value is by giving back to the communities where we live and work,” said Rhonda Klosler, national chief operating officer. “The RSM US Foundation was established in 2014 to support our people in their efforts to enhance their communities. The foundation is dedicated, in part, to enhancing educational outcomes through programs that help put individuals on paths to become entrepreneurs or middle market business leaders. Junior Achievement is clearly aligned with that goal and was supported by the foundation in the past. It is wonderful that we are also able to augment our existing support of JA Central Ontario and our people were happy to support the JA Company Program. We are looking at expanding our support of JA through other programs in the future.”

Beyond RSM Canada’s recent involvement with JA, the Dollars for Doers program also provides grants to match employees’ direct volunteer time serving other charities that align with the foundation’s mission across the United States and Canada.
