John Lee joins as US corporate tax advisory director

Toronto, ON – Our firm welcomes John S. Lee, who has joined the firm as director, US corporate tax advisory. John will expand the firm’s capacity to service the diverse needs of the firm’s clients with cross-border and US domestic business relations. John is a member of the New York and New Jersey State Bars and is admitted to the US District Court for the District of New Jersey.
John assists public and privately held Canadian and US corporations in navigating the complex US corporate tax system, spanning the breadth of federal, state, and local tax considerations. John has advised clients on US domestic and cross-border tax issues including business expansions into the US, corporate reorganization and restructuring, financing and refinancing strategies, state income and franchise tax, sales and use tax, tax structuring for repatriation, treaty qualification, credits and incentives, withholding, FATCA, and US tax due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, among others.
