RSM Canada raises over $190,000 through charitable giving campaigns

RSM Canada raises over $190,000 through 2021 Power of Love – Volunteer Week and Birdies Fore Love campaign

Toronto, ON – RSM Canada – a leading global provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market – is proud to announce that more than $190,000 was raised throughout Canada towards the firm’s 2021 Power of Love – Volunteer Week and Birdies Fore Love charitable giving campaign.

The annual campaign sees RSM employees in both Canada and the United States raise funds for charitable organizations dedicated to enhancing educational outcomes or the quality of life for children and families. In 2021, RSM offices across North America collectively raised over $5.5 million.

“In just our third year of participating in this campaign, we have once again surpassed expectations,” explained Rhonda Klosler, chief operating officer and Ontario market leader at RSM Canada. “This is a phenomenal achievement, particularly as we were again restricted to mostly virtual events in 2021 due to the pandemic. As always, I am incredibly proud of our staff for their continued efforts and am grateful to those who generously donated to our annual campaign.”

The firm’s 2021 fundraising goal was reached through various staff events, in addition to contributions from several generous external donors.

Below are the charitable organizations that will benefit from RSM Canada’s 2021 fundraising campaign:

CALGARY:

• The Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch is a specialized, trauma-informed, evidence-based, treatment centre focused on helping children who have been sexually abused, as well as their families. The Be Brave Ranch program assists children with overcoming the devastating effects of child sexual abuse – their program is for girls and boys from 8-12 years old and girls between the ages of 13 and 16, and is designed with significant input from many leading experts who specialize in child sexual abuse.
• Brown Bagging For Calgary’s Kids (BB4CK) provides lunches for approximately 4,400 kids each school day. BB4CK works with school staff members to identify needs and to plan how best to make sure hungry students get the nutrition they need to think clearly and learn. They believe that by enabling better education outcomes, BB4CK gives students a hand up, not just a handout.

EDMONTON:

RED DEER:

• Aspire Special Needs Resource Centre is a charitable organization run by a team of caring and optimistic professionals who believe in working with families, and the local community, in order that children with special needs can reach their full potential. They have been providing an understanding, supportive and knowledgeable experience for families who have children with special needs since 1985.

TORONTO:

• ComKids aims to provide youth with limitless and infinite potential through technology, digital literacy, and life tools. Since 1998, the ComKids program has worked with the Toronto District and Toronto Catholic District School Boards, as well as the Toronto Police Service, to uniquely leverage the power of technology for social good. To date, over 7,000 students have been impacted through involvement in the ComKids program.

Birdies Fore Love is RSM’s charitable giving platform for The RSM Classic, a PGA TOUR event for which RSM is title sponsor. Through this program, RSM people raise funds for deserving charitable organizations focused on enhancing educational outcomes and the quality of life for children and families.

Each year, RSM offices commit to raising funds for local charitable organizations aligned with the missions of the RSM US Foundation and the Davis Love Foundation, the host organization of The RSM Classic. RSM Birdies Fore Love office champions coordinate fun activities that help their respective locations reach fundraising and participation goals.

Over the past 10 years, The RSM Classic has donated more than US$22 million to help charities that support children and their families, with over US$4 million being donated to 70 deserving charities selected by our local offices in 2020 alone.
