TORONTO, ON – (August 2, 2022) – RSM Canada, a leading global provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market, is pleased to announce the kick-off of the firm’s 2022 Power of Love charitable giving campaign. Offices throughout Canada will hold their respective Volunteer Week activities throughout August and September.

The Power of Love campaign sees RSM employees in both Canada and the United States raise funds for charitable organizations dedicated to enhancing educational outcomes or the quality of life for children and families. In support of this fundraising campaign, RSM Canada offices throughout the country will volunteer and raise funds for select local charitable organizations that align with RSM’s core value of stewardship.

The charitable organizations RSM Canada has selected in support of Power of Love are listed below – donation links for each organization can be found toward the end of this release:

CALGARY:

  • Brown Bagging For Calgary’s Kids (BB4CK) provides lunches for approximately 4,700 kids each school day. BB4CK works with school staff members to identify needs and to plan how best to make sure hungry students get the nutrition they need to think clearly and learn. They believe that by enabling better education outcomes, BB4CK gives students a hand up, not just a handout.

EDMONTON:

  • The Little Warriors Be Brave Ranch is a specialized, trauma-informed, evidence-based, treatment centre focused on helping children who have been sexually abused, as well as their families. The Be Brave Ranch program assists children with overcoming the devastating effects of child sexual abuse – their program is for girls and boys from 8-12 years old and girls between the ages of 13 and 16, and is designed with significant input from many leading experts who specialize in child sexual abuse.

RED DEER:

  • Red Deer Family Services Bureau (Family Services of Central Alberta) is a nonprofit organization that provides preventive, supportive, and early intervention services throughout Central Alberta. Incorporated in 1970, their record for excellence and community service has been built on the delivery of accountable, innovative programs and services based on best practices.

TORONTO AND GUELPH:

  • ComKids aims to provide youth with limitless and infinite potential through technology, digital literacy, and life tools. Since 1998, the ComKids program has worked with the Toronto District and Toronto Catholic District School Boards, as well as the Toronto Police Service, to uniquely leverage the power of technology for social good. To date, over 7,000 students have been impacted through involvement in the ComKids program.

VANCOUVER:

  • For more than 40 years, the Adoptive Families Association of British Columbia has been dedicated to providing ground-breaking programs for families, children, and youth. They strive to inform, support, educate, and connect everyone in the adoption and permanency community, and welcome prospective and waiting adoptive parents and guardianship, kinship, moral, and custom adoption families, as well as those formed through legal adoption.

RSM Canada successfully contributed over $190,000 to their selected charities in 2021 during the firm’s fourth year participating in the Power of Love campaign. This year’s fundraising goal is expected to be raised through various staff fundraising events, in addition to support from external donors. Through the RSM US Foundation, RSM Canada will be able to access additional grants when fundraising goals are met, in addition to a grant that financially matches the hours employees contribute throughout the months of August and September, when staff and their families will be able to support these charities through volunteer activities.

RSM Canada encourages you to support the firm’s Power of Love fundraising goals for this year’s campaign by inviting you to:

About Birdies Fore Love

Birdies Fore Love is RSM’s charitable giving platform for The RSM Classic, a PGA TOUR event for which RSM is title sponsor. Through this program, RSM people, supported with a matching donation from the RSM US Foundation, raise funds for deserving charitable organizations focused on enhancing educational outcomes and the quality of life for children and families.

Each year, RSM offices commit to raising funds for local charitable organizations aligned with the missions of the RSM US Foundation and the Davis Love Foundation, the host organization of The RSM Classic. RSM Birdies Fore Love office champions coordinate fun activities that help their respective locations reach fundraising and participation goals.

Over the past 11 years, The RSM Classic has donated more than US$27 million to help charities that support children and their families, with over US$5.5 million donated to 87 deserving charities selected by our local offices in 2021 alone.
