RSM US LLP (“RSM”) – the nation’s leading provider of audit, tax and consulting services focused on the middle market and title sponsor of The RSM Classic – is pleased to congratulate Tyler Duncan, winner of the 2019 RSM Classic!

In a sudden-death playoff, Duncan sank a birdie on the second hole to beat Webb Simpson and take home the trophy, finishing the last two holes in regulation play with two birdies. Duncan is the sixth player to achieve his first PGA TOUR win at The RSM Classic.

“On behalf of our 11,000 people nationwide, I’d like to welcome Tyler to the RSM ‘family’ following his victory at the 2019 RSM Classic,” said Joe Adams, managing partner and CEO with RSM US LLP. “This year marks the 10th anniversary of the tournament, which has become a rich part of our firm’s history and an important part of our client experience. Over the past decade, the parallels between the game of golf and RSM have become increasingly clear, as our shared values of respect, integrity, teamwork, excellence and stewardship are highlighted throughout tournament week and exhibited by PGA TOUR players, including Duncan.

Congratulations, Tyler Duncan, on joining the growing list of previous RSM Classic winners Charles Howell, Austin Cook, Mackenzie Hughes, Kevin Kisner, Robert Streb, Chris Kirk, Tommy Gainey, Ben Crane and Heath Slocum. We’re glad to have you join our firm’s rich history!”

“After 10 years of sponsoring The RSM Classic, the parallels between the game of golf and RSM are obvious, particularly our shared focus on stewardship,” said Doug Opheim, chief financial officer with RSM US LLP and chair of the RSM US Foundation. “The RSM Classic provides a worldwide stage for us to give back to the communities where our people live and work through the RSM Birdies Fore Love program, the tournament’s youth activities and its military appreciation efforts. With a matching gift from the RSM US Foundation, we were able to provide $3.8 million to deserving children- and family-focused nonprofit organizations through Birdies Fore Love this year, bringing the grand total raised through the tournament since its 2010 inception to more than $17 million, and donations are still coming in! It’s our honor to be able to support the community in such a meaningful way.”

Proceeds from this year’s RSM Classic will benefit national and local charitable organizations aligned with the RSM US Foundation’s mission of building tomorrow’s middle market business leaders by supporting organizations committed to provide stable environments for youth in the areas of education, hunger, housing and health.

The 2019 RSM Classic included a concert by country music singer Cole Swindell, a youth zone for children and a putting contest with PGA TOUR professionals, Boys & Girls Club representatives and Special Olympics athletes, with RSM executives serving as caddies. The RSM Classic also raised more than $12,000 for Folds of Honor, a national nonprofit focused on providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.

“Including Folds of Honor in The RSM Classic is a privilege,” said Bill Gorman, chief operating officer with RSM US LLP. “Having grown up in a military family, I appreciate the dedication and sacrifices made by those who serve, as well as their families. Our VALOR employee network group, along with the rest of our nearly 11,000 people nationwide, take great pride in supporting our nation’s veterans, and we’re privileged to support the families of those who have been injured or lost their lives while serving our country.”

“The RSM Classic is one of the highlights of the PGA TOUR year after year, and we have many people to thank for that, not the least of which are the more than 1,200 volunteers who support the tournament every November,” said Andy Bosman, chief marketing officer with RSM US LLP. “Without them, this tournament and the good that it does for the community wouldn’t be possible. We enjoy reconnecting with our volunteers and others on the island who so generously share their famous Southern hospitality with us every year. It’s been a great 10 years, and I’m looking forward to many more years of The RSM Classic!”

The 2020 RSM Classic is scheduled for Nov. 16 – 22 at Sea Island Golf Club in Georgia’s Golden Isles.
