Our Abilities employee network group (ENG) strives to foster an environment that supports professionals who are differently abled, and/or those who have children or other dependents with special needs, as they build their careers at RSM. The Abilities ENG educates RSM and the broader community on the challenges and gifts of the differently abled by engaging with local groups in the community and communicating needs in the office environment to ensure full inclusion in the RSM workforce.
Abilities focuses on three areas:
- Sensory: Individuals who are challenged with hearing, sight or other sensory needs
- Mobility and environmental: Individuals who require an assisted device such as crutches or a wheelchair for mobility, and individuals with conditions such as diabetes or lupus, whose special diets or medications might affect their ability to reach their full potential in an office environment
- Cognitive: Individuals with autism, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injury or post-traumatic stress disorder
