Celebrating the African American and Black experience

Open to all RSM people, our African American and Canadian Excellence (AACE) employee network group (ENG) fosters an environment that supports its members in their pursuit of excellence. AACE creates a strong sense of belonging and connection and drives understanding and appreciation of the cultural nuances and significant contributions of Black professionals across the firm, driving our collective success.

RSM's Season of Service honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy

RSM’s Season of Service campaign honors Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s inspiring legacy of servant leadership and unity. Sponsored by the African American and Canadian Excellence and Interfaith employee network groups, this initiative empowers us to share our time, talent and resources to make a meaningful impact.

This year’s campaign involved more than 1,000 hours of service to support our local communities. From assembling care kits to donating essential goods, our volunteers came together to honor Dr. King’s legacy.

Donnovan Maginley Making a Difference Award

About the award

This award was established in memory of our friend and a partner in RSM’s government assurance practice, Donnovan Maginley. Donnovan passed away unexpectedly in November 2018 and the award remains a way to honour his passion for pursuing excellence, focusing on his clients and team, and being a valued first-choice advisor. 

2026 winner: Teeonah Brown

With several years of experience supporting RSM’s Washington National Tax practice, Teeonah is respected for both her technical acumen and her unwavering dedication to people. She has played an important role in strengthening AACE across the firm, leading local office initiatives, supporting enterprise programming, and consistently creating spaces where colleagues feel connected and valued. As part of the award, Teeonah will recieve $5,000 to pursue personal and professional excellence. Additionally, she has chosen House of Ruth DC, a nonprofit organization whose ultimate goal is to empower survivors of domestic violence to break the cycle of abuse and live independently, safely, and with dignity, to receive a $2,500 donation from the RSM US Foundation.

Continuing to create and foster a sense of community within our firm, where people truly feel they belong is what drives me. When people feel included, valued and seen, they show up differently. They feel empowered, confident and supported. And in turn, they take better care of our internal teams and our external clients.
