Matt Twomey is a director in RSM US LLP’s financial investigations and dispute advisory practice. He specializes in merger and acquisition advisory, disputes, and investigations, and serves as a consultant to buyers and sellers in disputes involving working capital, earnouts, and representations and warranties. He is based in RSM’s Philadelphia office.


Experience

Matt has over 10 years of public accounting experience and his clients include public and private companies across various industries, including technology, manufacturing, media, real estate, and financial services. In addition to advising on post-acquisition disputes, Matt also has experience in a variety of other forensic accounting engagements, including fraud investigations, commercial disputes, financial statement restatements, M&A due diligence, investigations under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and internal control assessments.

In 2024, Matt was selected to RSM’s Industry Eminence Program, which positions its senior analysts to understand, forecast and communicate economic, business and technology trends shaping the industries the firm serves. Matt’s focus in the program is on the technology, media and telecommunications industry.

Earlier in his RSM career, Matt provided assurance services to clients across a variety of industries, including technology, life sciences, manufacturing and professional services. Matt also provided technical accounting consulting to software clients in relation to the changing revenue recognition standards of the Financial Accounting Standards Board.

Matt leads RSM’s national sports industry practice and frequently advises professional and collegiate sports teams, leagues, conferences, athletes, players’ associations and other organizations.
